Return back

• After the installation of some programs (i.e. Sandra,SnagIt, etc.) you may notice that every time you are running them, three (3) errors are added to the "system" section of your Event Viewer as event logs.

These logs looks like:

 Error Nr.: 1 2 3
 Type Error Error Error
 Event 59 59 32
 Source SideBySide SideBySide SideBySide
Description  Generate Activation Context failed for ...program_name_path...\MFC80.DLL.
Reference error message: The operation completed successfully.
Resolve Partial Assembly failed for Microsoft.VC80.MFCLOC.
Reference error message: The referenced assembly is not installed on your system.
Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC80.MFCLOC could not be found and Last Error was:
The referenced assembly is not installed on your system.

Reason which causes the error messages:
- The messages are complaining that you don't have some latest Visual C++ dll's installed in your system.
- Although these errors are not serious at all, it's very reasonable that you dislike to have cumulative errors in your Event Viewer.

SOLUTION:
- Microsoft is distributing the necessary package for that occasion at:
   http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=32bc1bee-a3f9-4c13-9c99-220b62a191ee&DisplayLang=en
- Select the proper language of your OS, download and install it.
- Although you will not be prompt to reboot after the installation, a reboot is necessary.
- At anytime you can uninstall the package from the Add/Remove Programs of your Control Panel.

This Package Supports the Operating Systems:
Windows 2000 Service Pack 3, Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows ME, Windows Server 2003, Windows XP Service Pack 2.
